James J. Meyer, MD

Dr. Meyer was born in Melrose, Minnesota. He completed his pre-medical education at St. John's in Collegeville, Minnesota, and his medical education at the University of Minnesota. His urology residency was carried out at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Before entering private practice in 1973, Dr. Meyer served in the U.S. Army in Fairbanks, Alaska. Dr. Meyer's professional involvements include his positions as former chief of staff at Fairview Southdale Hospital, past president of the Minnesota Urological Society, his role on the Board of Directors of the Hennepin County Medical Society, and his position on the Executive Committee of the North Central Section of the American Urological Association. Dr. Meyer and his family enjoy a variety of sports activities including skiing and golf.

Harold J. Hoppmann, MD

Dr. Hoppmann was born in Dubuque, Iowa. Following completion of his undergraduate education at Loras College in Dubuque, he earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Medical School. Dr. Hoppmann's urology residency was carried out at the University of Minnesota, after which he served in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, California.

Since joining the practice in 1980, Dr. Hoppmann's professional involvements have included his positions on the Board of Directors of the Hennepin County Medical Society, chief of staff at Riverside Medical Center, and president of the Minnesota Urological Society. Dr. Hoppmann personally enjoys golf, and he, his wife, and their children enjoy a wide variety of family activities.

William M. Kaylor, Jr, MD

Dr. Kaylor was born in Lakewood, Ohio. He completed his premedical education at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and his medical education at the Ohio State University. His urology residency was carried out at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Kaylor received the Bruce Hubbard Stewart Award, an annual award presented to a resident in recognition of outstanding character and skill in medicine and surgery.

He entered into private practice with Urologic Physicians in 1989 and specializes in endoscopic, laparoscopic and open surgery.

Mark J. Fallen, MD

Dr. Fallen is a native of Chicago, Illinois. After completing his premedical education at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, he achieved his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago. His internship and urology residency were carried out at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He joined Urologic Physicians in 1992.

Dr. Fallen has complemented his urologic residency by having authored a number of presentations and publications. He resides in Plymouth with his wife and three children. Dr. Fallen enjoys a wide variety of athletic involvements including hockey, tennis, and golf.

B. Robert Spence, MD

Dr. Spence, a native of Crookston, Minnesota, completed his premedical and medical education at the University of Minnesota. His internship and urology residency were accomplished at Ramsey Medical Center in St Paul five years later. He subsequently served as an instructor in urology at the St. Paul Ramsey and Hennepin County Medical Centers and the University of Minnesota Hospital.

Dr. Spence was certified by the American Board of Urology in 1975 and has been in urological solo and group practice in Texas, Brainerd, and Minneapolis. Dr. Spence and his wife have three children and live in Bloomington. He enjoys golf and a variety of family activities. He joined Urologic Physicians in 1995.

John C. Hulbert, MD, FACS, FRMS

Dr. Hulbert was born in England and graduated from the University of London, England. He received post graduate training in England and Australia. He completed a urology residency at the University of Wisconsin and fellowship training in endourology at the University of Minnesota, joining the faculty in 1983. He is an ex-chairman of the University’s Urology department. Dr. Hulbert joined Urologic Physicians, P.A. on January 1, 2003 and has expanded our menu of minimally invasive therapies including percutaneous, laparoscopic and cryoablation therapies. Dr. Hulbert is married and has four children. He spends his free time with family and enjoying golf.
